CZ12 Roll Former

Structural lines

RX-CZ12 Roll Former

One line for every purlin and girt on a metal building. The RX-CZ12 changes from C to Z, and from one web depth to another, from the touchscreen, with no roller swap and no crane. Changeover takes three to eight minutes instead of an afternoon.

Features

Built for Performance

C to Z from the touchscreen

Select the profile and the web, flange, and lip dimensions on the PLC, and the forming stands reposition themselves. There is no tooling to lift off and no shims to chase. A shop that quoted C purlins this morning can run Z girts after lunch.

Heavy Enough for 12 Gauge

A 40 HP main drive, 75 mm solid shafts, and CR12 steel rollers, heat-treated, give this machine the strength to form material up to 12 gauge. Twelve forming stations bend the flange and lip gradually to help avoid flare and twist on long sections.

Hydraulic cut with D2-class blades

The hydraulic shear uses Cr12MoV blades, the equivalent of D2 tool steel, so the cut stays clean at full thickness. Cut length is controlled by encoder and PLC, with batch and quantity presets.

Punching for your building system

Web and flange punching for bolted connections and sag rods is included and can be configured to meet your specific building-system requirements, with punch locations and patterns based on your project needs. The line can run up to 105 FPM without punching, while actual production speed will depend on the number of punches required for the selected configuration.

RX-CZ12 Roll Former Spec Sheet

  • Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the difference between a C purlin and a Z purlin?

A C purlin has both flanges on the same side of the web and is used for simple spans, girts, and end walls. A Z purlin's flanges point opposite directions so sections nest and lap over a support, which makes them stronger for continuous roof spans. Most metal buildings use both, which is why a changeover machine pays off.

    How long does changeover take?

Three to eight minutes from the PLC, depending on how far the web and flange settings move. There is no roller change and no manual shimming.

    What thickness can it form?

    It can form 20-12 GA

How much power does it need?

A 40 HP main motor and a 20 HP hydraulic pump on 3-phase service. Plan for 480V and a slab that can carry a 24,000 lb machine.

    Does it punch holes?

In line punching is included, and as an option you can add more punch stations to fit your specifications.

Why buy a purlin line instead of buying purlins?

If you erect more than a few buildings a month, in-house purlins remove the four to eight week lead time from the building supplier and put the margin on structural steel in your pocket.
