Automatic Panel Stacker

Run-out & stacking

Automatic Panel Stacker

A roll former that runs 60 feet a minute still needs someone to catch every panel. The RX-APS stacker takes that job. Panels ride out on rollers, a photo eye trips the pneumatic arms, and each sheet drops about four inches onto a square stack. One operator runs the line, and the painted face never drags across the panel below it.

No Catchers, No Scratched Panels

Hand-stacking is where painted panels get scuffed. Two people pull a 30-foot sheet off the run-out, it bows, and it slides across the one underneath. On the RX-APS, each panel travels on rollers and side guides, never on the panel below, until it is fully out and square over the stack. The crew member who used to catch panels can band bundles, load trucks, or run a second machine.

Photo Eye and Pneumatic Arms

When the cut panel clears the photo eye, the pneumatic stacker arms swing open and release it. The drop is about four inches, short enough that the panel lands flat and stays where it falls. Every sheet ends up in the same place, so bundles come off square, band cleanly, and ship without edge damage.

A Table That Moves With the Stack

The discharge table is powered up and down, so it lowers as the stack grows and the drop stays short from the first panel to the last. It also powers in and out, bringing the finished bundle to where a forklift can reach it. Nobody has to climb onto the frame or slide a bundle by hand.

Sized to Your Longest Panel

Stackers are available in 20-foot (6-meter) and 40-foot (12-meter) configurations. The RX-APS pairs with any Roll Worx panel line and can be added to a roll former you already own. Send us your exit height, panel width, and longest cut, and we will size the stacker to match.

  • Air compressor package — Sized compressor and dryer for shops without plant air.

  • Frequently Asked Questions:

What does an automatic stacker do on a roll forming line?

It catches each cut panel as it leaves the roll former and sets it on a stack without anyone touching it. Panels ride on rollers until they are fully out, pneumatic arms release them, and they drop about four inches onto a powered table that lowers as the stack grows.

Do I need a stacker, or will a run-out table do?

A run-out table is fine for short panels and low volume. Once you are running panels over 20 feet, running long cut lists, or tying up two people to catch panels, a stacker earns its keep in labor saved and in fewer scratched, returned panels.

Will it work with the roll former I already own?

In most cases, yes. We need the exit height of your machine, the panel width, and your longest cut length. The stacker is a separate frame that sits at the exit, so it does not require changes to the roll former itself.

What does it need for air and power?

Shop compressed air for the pneumatic arms and 3-phase, 60 Hz, 480 V or 240V power for the 4 HP (3 kW) motor that drives the table. If your shop has no plant air, we can quote a compressor package with the stacker [CONFIRM air spec].

    Which panels can it stack?

“PBR, R, AG, PBU, U, 7.2, 7.2N, Corrugated, B deck and flat sheet from a cut-to-length line. Tell us the profile and gauge you run, and we will confirm the fit before you order.
