Combination Slitting & Cut-to-Length Line

Buy master coil, run your own trim coil and flat blanks. The RX-SCL48 decoils, levels, slits, and shears to length in one pass, so the shop that already runs panels stops paying a service center to slit 41-inch roofing coil and stops waiting for it.

Built for Performance

Decoil, level, slit, shear: one line

Coil feeds into the line through the decoiler. A 11-roll, 5-high leveler takes the coil set out of the strip so blanks lay flat. Four sets of slitter blades split the strip into the widths you need, and a hydraulic flying shear cuts to length on the move without stopping the line. Finished pieces run out on a conveyor to the stacking area.

Slit your own roofing and trim coil

Most panel shops buy pre-slit 41-inch or 43-inch coil at a premium and wait on the service center. With master coil and this line you slit panel coil, trim coil, and gutter coil from the same buy, in the widths you decide.

Flat blanks for the brake

Set the shear length and the line produces flat sheet for trim, flashing, cabinet panels, and HVAC blanks. Length accuracy is held by encoder and PLC, and the leveler is what keeps the blank from springing on the brake.

Name-brand controls

Delta PLC, touchscreen, and inverter, an Omron encoder, and Schneider electrical components. Every part is stocked in the US, which is a detail worth asking about on any imported line.

Combination Slitting & Cut-to-Length Line Spec Sheet

  • Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the difference between a slitting line and a cut-to-length line?

A slitting line cuts coil lengthwise into narrower coils. A cut-to-length line flattens the strip and shears it into flat sheets. A combination line does both, which is what most panel and trim shops actually need.

Can I slit master coil into roofing coil myself?

Yes. That is the main reason panel shops buy this line. A 48-inch master coil slits into panel coil and a trim strip in one pass.

    What thickness can it slit?

    21 through 30 gauge.

    Do I need the leveler?

If you are cutting flat blanks, yes. Coil set will show up as a bow on the brake without it. If you are only slitting for a roll former, the leveler is still useful but less critical.

How accurate is the cut length?

Encoder-controlled shear with PLC compensation. Typical lines of this class hold about ±1/32 in over a 10 ft blank.
